Sweet & Savory Spiced Nuts

These nuts are a delicious treat and make a great homemade gift. Put them in a decorative box or in a jar with a ribbon around it. Or place a bowl of them on the dining room table as an appetizer for all to enjoy when entertaining guests!

You will need:

  • 1 large egg white

  • 4 cups raw nuts (almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, pecans, walnuts, macadamias or a mixture of any of these)

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1 packet Karen’s Spice Kitchen spice blend (use any of these: Shrimp Curry, Veggie Curry, Beef Madras, Bobotie, Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, Chicken & Chickpea Curry)

What to do:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

  • In a medium sized bowl, beat the egg white with water until frothy.

  • Add nuts and mix until coated with the egg white.

  • Put the nuts into a zip-lock bag and add the spice packet and the sugar. Shake well until the nuts are coated with the spices.

  • Spread the nuts evenly on a baking sheet.

  • Bake in 300 degree oven for 30 minutes. Toss the nuts when they come out so they are separated.

  • Allow nuts to cool completely. Can be stored in a zip-lock bag or frozen.

Happy cooking! And Happy Holidays to all!

Xoxo,

KSK
